Chestnuts Community Centre Entrance Hall

Much loved Chestnuts Community Centre which has been part of the local community for many decades has received a fresh look inside thanks to the support of local volunteers and staff. The centre which had not been painted for many years and was looking tired is now brighter and welcoming.

In partnership with a local organisation, Urban Futures, we have worked with volunteers to brighten the look and feel of the centre. Some areas have seen new carpets laid and a return to original features through an intensive programme of deep cleaning.

Keith, a local volunteer, said: “I was delighted to help out and really have enjoyed painting up the centre.” Jeremy, another volunteer, said: “Seeing how the centre looks now makes me feel that it was worth the effort.”

Rachel Hughes, Chair of The Bridge Renewal Trust said: “Tottenham has often had to make do with poor standards of buildings. We want to work with local people to improve their community facilities and we hope to do more.”
